A Downtown Durham Engagement
Downtown Durham is always one of our favorite places to shoot, so we were pretty excited when Eiman and Aaron chose it as the starting point for their engagement session. We had SO much fun hanging out with these two! They’re such a fun, easy-going couple – they made our jobs super easy! 🙂 After exploring some of the awesome murals and alleys in Bull City, we headed back to Raleigh to finish up their session at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
Where did you go on your first date?
“Our first date happened five years ago during my junior year of college when Aaron drove 8 hours from Ohio to North Carolina to surprise me. This was the first time we had met in person and he called me when he was outside of my apartment and told me to walk outside. I was so surprised, it took me ten minutes of sitting outside in the parking lot with him to calm down. We ended up going to UNC and walking around campus, talking for hours. By the end of the night, our conversations solidified what we had both been feeling and left us very grateful for the randomness of life.”
What is your favorite quality of Aaron’s?
“My favorite thing about Aaron is his wit and his ability to always make me laugh and feel special. Aaron is one of the most passionate people I have ever met. He has a great energy about him that draws people in. He is also very expressive with his emotions which is really admirable and sweet. He is the guy you want on your team and I’m lucky to be spending the rest of my life with him.”
How did Aaron propose to you?
“He asked if I wanted to grab dessert after he got home from work and ended up driving us to the middle of nowhere in Carrboro (the city I lived in when we first met in person) and waited until we were both lost before pulling off onto a dirt road. We got out of the car and he told me that there was no one else he would rather get lost and figure out life with. Then he got down on one knee and popped the question! Afterwards, we went to Franklin St. and had delicious treats from Insomnia Cookies.”
What are your favorite qualities in Eiman?
” My favorite thing about Eiman is the way that she always pushes me to be the best version of myself and that she usually laughs at my dumb jokes. Usually. Eiman is an amazing, loving, caring, smart, gorgeous, hilarious woman. She has a huge heart, and a smile that can turn my worst days around. Basically, she is, in every way, too good for me.”
What is your favorite way to unwind together?
“Hiking, exploring new restaurants and areas of town, watching comedies and college basketball.”
